The Blacktail Climb returns to Lakeside on Saturday, Oct. 3, bringing cyclists, outdoor enthusiasts and the community together for a day of climbing and riding.

Organized by the Lakeside-Somers Chamber of Commerce, the event offers three ways to participate: the Summit Climb is 13.5 miles with approximately 3,000 feet of vertical gain; the 10K Climb is 6.2 miles with approximately 1,500 feet of vertical gain; and an e-bike fall fun ride is for those looking to enjoy the mountain at a more relaxed pace.

A portion of proceeds from each registration will benefit Blacktail Quick Response Unit, supporting the local volunteer responders who provide emergency services on Blacktail Mountain during the winter season.

Hammer Nutrition will be providing endurance products throughout the race to help participants stay fueled for the climb. And there's a little extra motivation waiting in the swag bags. Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is providing every Summit and 10K climber with a complimentary lift voucher for the 2026-2027 winter season.

Following the races, people are invited to stick around for Tamaracktoberfest hosted by Tamarack Brewing Company.
