Rain and cooler weather has eased some restrictions near wildfires in the Bob Marshall Wilderness.
Trail 83, the main trail into the Bob Marshall from Spotted Bear has reopened, though trails directly near the Silvertip Fire to the south remain closed.
The area closure around the 7,272 acre blaze has been lifted, but the Silvertip Trail and the Limestone Peak Trail remain closed.
The Camp Creek Fire about 5.5 miles from Benchmark also saw rain and cooler temperatures. At just under 10,000 acres it burned in the Basin area of the Bob about 5.5 miles from Benchmark. Several trails near the fire remained closed as of presstime.
Other fires like the Skillet Fire near Olney, the Deer Creek Fire near Pleasant Valley are all largely contained and also saw significant rain.
More rain, and even snow, is expected this weekend.
