The Hot Springs Savage Heat spiked two opponents in volleyball action in the Spa City last week, downing St. Regis in three sets Thursday, and registering an exciting five -set win (25-16, 24-26, 23-25, 25-22, 15-12) over Philipsburg Saturday.

In the win over P-burg, Lanet Jakabosky put down 10 kills and four blocks, net-mate Hollis Key 11 kills and three blocks, Dakota Slonaker smacked a team-high seven aces and Kora Hensrude hit seven digs.

The Heat posted team totals of 17 aces, 34 assists, 41 kills, 10 blocks and 21 digs in the victory over the Prospectors.

Against St. Regis, Johnson led the Heat with 19 assists and five aces, Key collected 10 kills and Slonaker came up with 10 digs.

Salmi is loving life as coach of the Savage Heat girls. 

“Some exciting, aggressive volleyball is happening in Hot Springs, once we are firing on all cylinders, they are going to be hard to beat,” Salmi said.

She added that the Savage Heat JV also defeated their Philipsburg foes 3-0 Saturday.
