Sports roundup: Peterson leads Vikings at Whitefish Invite

Bigfork golf was led by Mason Peterson's round of 79 at the Whitefish Invitational golf tournament on Wednesday. His score placed him 11th overall and helped the Vikings finish in sixth as a team.
Corvallis won the team title, followed closely by Whitefish.
On the girls side, Bigfork's Keegan Campbell carded a 97 to place 8th overall, with Jocelyn Holton scoring a 98 to place in the top 10.
Whitefish girls won the team title with a 325.
Bigfork hosts the next tournament Sept. 10 at Eagle Bend Golf Club.
Soccer
Bigfork girls soccer notched a 4-2 victory Sept. 4 over Stevensville for the team's first win of the season. The Valkyries are 1-3 overall.
The Bigfork boys soccer program is still looking for its first win after a 2-2 draw at Stevensville on Sept. 4. The Vikings opened the season with a 1-4 loss to Billings Central and a 2-5 loss to Livingston's Park High.
Football
The Vikings took a tough 36-21 loss at Corvallis on Friday, Sept. 4.
Quarterback Alex Ochs threw for 240 yards and a touchdown in the effort. Receiver Cooper Porrovecchio accounted for 60 receiving yards on four catches, and Quinn Kerr picked up 38 rushing yards on five carries.
Bigfork is 0-2 heading into Friday's home game against Beaverhead.
