Whitefish community raises $3,386 for The Making Place through summer reading program

The 2026 Whitefish Community Library Summer Reading program has officially come to an end, marking a record-breaking season of reading, community engagement and local giving. This year, 545 participants collectively contributed 3,386 stickers to tThe Making Place banner, translating directly into a $3,386 donation to support The Making Place.
That is a $536 increase from what was raised last summer for the Miracle League. The annual program was once again made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Whitefish Credit Union.
"Although I am sad to see it come to an end, I am ecstatic to announce the incredible impact our young readers made this year," said Gina Schiff, youth services librarian. "The ice cream has been served, the tickets have been counted, and the prize winners have been notified. A huge thank you to the Whitefish Credit Union for sponsoring this program again and helping our community thrive."
The funds raised will directly benefit programming and resources at The Making Place, ensuring continued creative and educational opportunities for local residents.
