9/11 memorial observance marks 25 years

Boundary County residents are invited to gather Friday, Sept. 11, for the annual Boundary County 9/11 memorial observance, marking 25 years since the terrorist attacks that claimed nearly 3,000 lives and forever changed the nation. 

The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Boundary County Fairgrounds pavilion and will take place rain or shine. 

The annual observance provides an opportunity for the community to come together to remember those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, honor the first responders and others who answered the call that day, and reflect on the resilience and unity that followed the attacks. 

The observance is sponsored by the Boundary County Chaplain Corps and Boundary County Fire Rescue Honor Guard in partnership with emergency service agencies throughout Boundary County. 

Organizers invite community members to “come, remember, and honor the victims of hateful terror while finding hope in our nation's resilience and determination to persevere in freedom and peace.” 

Seating will be available for those who need it.
