MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Police Department is asking for the public's help in connection with a shooting near South Gibby Road and West Fern Drive Wednesday night.

The shooting was reported about 10 p.m., said MLPD Captain Jeff Sursely in a media release.

"As officers were responding, a 17-year-old male from Moses Lake arrived at Samaritan Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg," Sursely said. "A shooting scene was located in the area of the original call."

Further investigation by MLPD detectives prompted them to ask for and execute a search warrant at an apartment complex at 1701 Crouse Street, near the intersection with Gibby Road.

"The Moses Lake Tactical Response Team executed the search warrant due to the potential that the shooting was gang-related, and the search warrant was for guns," Sursely said.

No one had been arrested in connection with the incident as of Thursday morning. People who may have information about the case are asked to contact the MLPD at 509-764-3887, reference case 26ML11528.
