Farmer, Watson lead Libby at Flathead Invite

Libby’s Capri Farmer and Cody Watson both raced their way into the top 15 last Friday as the Loggers competed against a deep field at the Flathead Invitational at Rebecca Farm.

Farmer turned in the strongest performances of the day for Libby, placing sixth overall in the girls varsity race with a personal-best time of 18:24.31.

The performance came against a field featuring runners from some of Montana’s largest schools, with 17 complete girls teams competing.

Farmer finished less than a minute behind individual champion Morgan Delaney of Polson, who crossed the line in 17:32.25.

On the boys side, Watson continued his strong start to the season by placing 14th overall in 16:12.35.

Watson was Libby’s top finisher in a varsity field that included 21 complete teams.
