Jon Broemmeling, 56

Jon E. Broemmeling, 56, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away Aug. 30, 2026.

He was born in Moscow, Idaho, on April 30, 1970, to Edward and Sara (Susie) Broemmeling. He graduated from Moscow High School. He later attended Lewis & Clark College where he graduated as a diesel mechanic.

After graduating, he worked as a diesel mechanic at Columbia Tractor and then as a driver/mechanic for Moscow Building Supply. He later moved to Sandpoint and worked as a manager at North Columbia Equipment. Later, he and his wife moved to Coeur d’Alene for a new adventure. He worked at Interstate Concrete. He later worked for the City of Coeur d’Alene where he mastered multiple positions. He had a great work ethic and refused to stray from that.

Jon loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, walking, biking, kayaking and skiing. He was a farmer at heart and enjoyed working on family and friends’ farms when he had the chance. He loved John Deere and farm equipment and collected a massive amount of these toys. He loved watching the Farm Report on TV and reading the Wheat Life Magazine.

Jon will be remembered and deeply missed by his family, his best friend since grade school, Gus Becker, and other friends who all had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his father, Ed Broemmeling, brother Jay Broemmeling, wife Joyce Broemmeling, stepmother Paula Broemmeling, stepbrother Kent Nelson and stepsister Kari Nelson as well as other family members.

Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Sara (Susie) Broemmeling, grandparents Leo and Mary Broemmeling and Oliver and Madeline Espy.

A funeral service will be held at St Pius X Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Sept. 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jon’s honor to Real Life Recovery Ministry or The Way Home, both of which are located in Coeur d’Alene.
