Kootenai Stargazers to meet Sept. 18 at Achievements

The Kootenai Stargazers Astronomy Club will be holding its monthly meeting Friday, Sept. 18 in the Achievements conference room located at 104 Mineral Ave. in Libby.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation starts at 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to enter through the back door.

Also, the following astro events will occur this month:

Sept.10 - New moon;

Sept. 22 - Venus will be at its brightest;

Sept. 23 - The fall equinox: the first day of autumn with equal day and night;

Sept. 25 - Neptune is in Opposition (closest to the earth and fully illuminated by the sun. Those hoping to see the tiny blue dot will need a telescope.

Sept. 26 - The moon will be full. It is also called the Harvest moon.
