Libby volleyball falls to Columbia Falls in straight sets

Libby volleyball battled Columbia Falls in Northwestern A Conference action but was unable to extend the match, falling in three sets, 25-14, 25-17, 25-16.

The Loggers showed their best resistance in the second set, reaching 17 points before Columbia Falls pulled away. Libby finished the match with 14 kills on 69 attacks while hitting .159 as a team.

Junior Alyssa Andersen led Libby offensively with four kills on 15 attempts. Senior Rylee Delmas and senior Maddie Willis added three kills apiece, with Willis posting a .429 hitting percentage.

Willis also provided Libby’s strongest presence at the net. She finished with two solo blocks and four block assists for six total blocks. Delmas added three block assists, while senior Leah Rusdal recorded a solo block. The Loggers totaled seven blocks as a team.

Libby also found some success from the service line, recording six aces while committing only two service errors. Delmas led the Loggers with two aces.

Defensively, senior Tessa Purdy led the Loggers with nine digs. Junior Weslee MacDonald and Sherbo each finished with eight. Libby totaled 43 digs in the three-set match.

Delmas and Sherbo shared the team lead with four assists each.
