LEWISTON — The Sandpoint girls’ star Hannah Majors shot another under-100 day to power her team to a narrow, one-stroke victory over Lewiston at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club on Wednesday. 

Majors’ 95 fell one short of the medalist, which went to Lewiston’s Marissa Peterson’s 94. Sandpoint was supported by solid days from Ella Mahlum and Hailey Gove, who shot 100 and 103 respectfully. Evey Walker stepped up to shoot a 111 to round out the scoring for the Lady Bulldogs, who posted a team total of 409 to Lewiston’s team total of 410. 

Alison Petro shot a 113, narrowly missing the scoring, and Ysabelle Lopez shot a 127, but their scores did not count toward the team’s final total.  

On the boys side, a near-perfect day from senior Bode Eacret earned him medalist honors but wasn’t enough to lift the Bulldogs over the Bengals. Eacret shot a 73, just one over par, the best of any golfer in the invitational. 

Drake Reid put together another solid outing with the team’s second-lowest score, 84, while Miller Ely posted an 85. Rajah Brown wrapped up the scoring for Sandpoint, shooting an 87 to give the team a total of 329.  

Beckett Fuller shot a 91 and Landon Day shot a 95 at the invite, but their scores did not count toward the team’s final total. 

Lewiston cobbled together several solid days, with their highest scoring golfer shooting an 83, helping them post a team total of 316 and beat Sandpoint. 

Both Sandpoint golf teams are back in action against Lewiston next Wednesday, Sept. 16.
