Richard Duval Jones, 74

Richard Duval Jones, 74, passed away at his home July 9, 2026, in Laclede, Idaho. He was born April 3, 1952, in Wallace, Idaho, to Henry and Freda (Gray) Jones. He graduated from Wallace High School in 1970. He was a lifelong miner and retired in Montana. He returned to Idaho in 2019 to be closer to family.

Commonly referred to as Jonesy, he was a lover of the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, hiking, camping and taking famously precarious trips over Moon Pass to Slate Creek (Stanleyville). He was a lifelong member of the King Street Invitational. 

Richard is survived by his wife, Carla Jones; his daughter, Leslie Ann (Dennis) Hall; and his cherished granddaughter, Brooklynn Paige Hall. He is also survived by his siblings, Karen (Kent) Snow, Cynthia Brackett, Steve (Janine) Jones, Diana (Jeff) Hosking, Robert Jones, Marta (Jeff) Arthurs, and Matthew (Tammy) Jones, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Freda Jones, and his brother, Gregory Jones. 

A celebration of life will be held Oct. 24, 2026, at the Wallace Inn (Gold Room) at 2 p.m.; all are welcome.  

Richard will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
