Photographers from across the nation and from other countries line the shoreline of Hayden Lake to take pictures of osprey catching red kokanee on Thursday. Hayden Lake is currently the primary hotspot where dozens of wildlife photographers gather during the late-summer run before the birds fly south for the winter. After leaving Hayden Lake and other North Idaho waters in the fall, ospreys migrate south to the coastal areas of California, western Mexico, Central America, and occasionally as far south as South America. Photographer Steven Peak captured these images using a Canon R5 with the Canon 100-400 L USM lens at 1/1600 sec, f 5.6 @ 400 MM, using auto ISO that came out at 8000. "I don’t think it came out too bad," Peak said.
