Law roundup: No one wins this water balloon fight

A boy was admonished for reportedly throwing a water balloon at a truck, which the owner thought caused damage and called the police, later learning that the damage was already there before the balloon toss. The boy apologized to the officer, who counseled him on his actions and informed his mother of the incident.

A white Toyota hauling a 14-foot trailer reportedly crossed the center lane, went into a ditch, backed out and kept driving, then turned around and headed northbound on Willow Glen Drive.

A man called the Kalispell Police Department to complain that his neighbor said something rude to him again. The neighbor allegedly yelled from their balcony, “If you touch my stuff again, I will give you a problem,” to which he responded, “OK, then give it to me,” and left, headed to his parents’ house. He told the responding officer that he was considering getting a temporary restraining order, saying the rudeness had been ongoing for three months. 

He was reportedly upset when the officer tried to explain that he’d have to call the police every time there was an issue and that he could not just email the officer. The officer also spoke to his parents about the situation. 

Two trucks were allegedly doing burnouts.

Someone reportedly wanted to know if the locks could be changed on a residence after a six-day waiting period after serving eviction paperwork.

An orange Toyota Tacoma allegedly backed into another red pickup in a gas station parking lot and left. Officers spoke to a man who reportedly said he was at the location, but did not run into anything. Officers collected information for insurance purposes and to write up a report, pending a review of security footage to confirm the hit-and-run occurred.
