COEUR d’ALENE — Senior Henry Weimer-Earnest had a goal in each half for the Lake City Timberwolves in a 4-0 win over the Post Falls Trojans in a 6A Inland Empire League match at the Irma Anderl Soccer Complex at Lake City High on Saturday. 

“This season has tested us in a lot of ways, and it took a real, honest conversation to get us back on track,” Lake City coach Chaz Donovan said. “The boys responded the right way after Thursday’s performance — they showed up, put in the work, and proved what they’re capable of when they stay locked in and play as one.” 

Lake City (4-4, 1-1 6A IEL) hosts Moscow, which beat the Timberwolves 3-1 on Thursday, on Tuesday. 

Post Falls (1-4, 0-1) hosts Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday.

RATHDRUM — Senior Isabella Grimmett recorded a hat trick and freshman Brightyn Gatten had two goals for the Vikings in a nonleague win over the Hawks at Sunrise Rotary Field. 

“We had a lot of good chances, and the girls created a lot of looks today,” Coeur d’Alene coach Andy Vredenburg said. “The girls bounced really well from the loss to Lake City. 

“Our girls played a good, tough game,” Lakeland coach Allison Guy said. “They came back and held Coeur d’Alene to three goals in the second half. Overall, our girls played great as a team, battled and are ready for the next challenge.” 

Coeur d’Alene (3-4) travels to Lewiston on Thursday. 

Lakeland (2-3-2) hosts Lewiston on Tuesday.
