Fish and Wildlife Commission to hold special meeting Sept. 24

The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, via Zoom, and is seeking public comment on the agenda items.
Agenda items include:
- Administrative rulemaking petition – 24-hour trap check
- Administrative rulemaking petition – bear spray requirement
- Initiation of administrative rulemaking process – predator management policy

Your voice matters in this process. The commission is accepting public comment on meeting agenda items through Sept. 18. There are two ways to comment before the meeting:
- Online portal (SurveyMonkey): Each agenda item includes a survey for submitting public comment. Letters and supporting documents may be attached to the survey.
- Mail: Send written comments to: Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission, c/o FWP Liaison – Director’s Office, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701.
For those who prefer to comment at the meeting, it may be done virtually, but advance registration is reqired. Registration for Zoom comment is now open and will close at 5 p.m. on Sept. 23. To register, go to commission/september-2026-special-meeting.
