SPIRIT LAKE — Senior Paige Yrjana had nine kills and nine digs as the visiting 3A Wildcats swept the 4A Tigers 25-11, 25-14, 25-12 in nonleague play.
Gretah Angle added seven kills and eight digs for Kellogg. Laine Smith had five kills, Hadley Bush five blocks, Jordyn Stutzke nine digs, Ella Yrjana eight digs and four aces. Bella Schillereff and Valynn Visintainer each had nine-point service runs.
“After a shaky start, we never looked back,” Kellogg coach Hollie Yrjana said. “Great all-around team effort tonight, with good energy.”
For Timberlake, Addie Archer had eight kills and nine digs, Sidnie Thompson 10 digs and two aces, Layla Webb three kills and four blocks, Jordyn Parke seven assists and eight digs, Willow Mattson seven assists and five digs.

Kellogg d. St. Maries
KELLOGG — Sophomore Gretah Angle had 10 kills and 10 aces for the Wildcats in a 25-5, 25-16, 25-7 Central Idaho League win over the Lumberjacks at Andrews Gymnasium.
“It was a great home opener with lots of energy in the gym,” Kellogg coach Hollie Yrjana said. “We were excited to play in front of our home crowd tonight.”
Junior Ella Yrjana had seven aces, 19 assists and four kills and junior Hadley Bush four blocks for Kellogg.

KELLOGG — The host Wildcats swept the Bulldogs 25-8, 25-17, 25-7 in Central Idaho League play at Andrews Gymnasium.
“We served tough and are starting to play well in our system,” Kellogg coach Hollie Yrjana said.
Senior Paige Yrjana led the attack with seven kills and four aces. The Wildcats have not given up a set in full match play this season.

CLARK FORK – Junior Cooper Miller passed for 313 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns as the Miners extended their winning streak to three with a non-conference win over the Wampus Cats.
Senior Hank Larson caught eight passes for 120 yards and three scores to lead Wallace.
Wallace hosts Lake Roosevelt this week.

COEUR d’ALENE — Sophomore Espi Klocko had 36 digs and the host Saints won a tight fifth set to beat the Miners 25-18, 25-23, 25-27, 20-25, 15-13 in nonleague play at Holy Family Catholic School.
Therese Junkin had 30 assists for Coeur du Christ.

ATHOL – The Coeur d’Alene boys and girls won the team titles at the Timberlake Invitational at Farragut State Park on Saturday.
Kellogg freshman Will Miller paced the boys with a time of 19:15, good for 26th place out of 234 runners.
“The kids ran well at Farragut,” Kellogg coach Jeff Smith said. “Will is already running times that could get him an individual qualification for state.”
The Wildcats runners all bumped their times up from earlier in the season and, currently, the boys team features four of the five fastest times for the Central Idaho League.

Salmon 27 Kellogg 6
SALMON — The Wildcats fell to 0-3 on the season with a loss to the Savages at Salmon High.
Senior Talon White punched in Kellogg’s lone score in the third quarter.
Kellogg routinely put themselves in late-down situations as they racked up numerous penalties throughout the game. Defensively, the Cats forced three turnovers, including key stops during the fourth quarter – but the offense simply couldn’t finish.
Kellogg was one for three in the red zone.
The game took a nasty turn late, when both teams engaged in a fight that resulted in one player being ejected.
Kellogg hosts Timberlake this week for homecoming.
