Dye, Flynn lead Bulldogs at Piikunii Pass

Whitefish distance runners continue to improve this season, most recently racing at the Piikunii Pass Invite in Browning. The girls team earned second place out of six teams with 55 points, behind Polson (23) and ahead of Columbia Falls (76).
Sophomore Kendall Dye placed fourth with a time of 20:42. She was followed by senior Sierra Gibb in 10th in 21:42. Senior Sophie Douglas finished 14th with 22:17.25. Freshman K. Boyd placed 20th in 23:08.91. Freshman Marin Gignoux rounded out the top five Bulldogs in 23rd with a time of 23:15.12.
In the boys 5K race senior Ean Flynn lead the team in 15th with a time of 19.03. Junior Peter Schram finished 23rd in 19:56.41, contributing 20 team points to the team score. Freshman Cooper Connelly placed 29th in 20:21.89 and Junior Mason Loeffler came in 34th in 20:38.96. Junior Marcus Mercer with the fifth Bulldog in 37th with 20:52.57. The boys totaled 120 points for fifth place out of eight teams.
The Big Mountain West Invite is Saturday in Missoula.
