The Noxon Lady Red Devils are on a quest for fire. If they find that fire they are proving they can compete with anyone.

Playing with fire one night and largely without it the other, Coach Toni Richter and her Lady Devils dropped a pair of home volleyball matches to Mineral County foes last week, falling 27-25, 25-21, 15-25, 16-25, 15-10 to St. Regis Thursday and 25-10, 25-20, 25-13 to Superior Saturday.

The Lady Devils were set to visit Clark Fork Monday for an intrastate match with the Wampus Cats and will host the Alberton Panthers Thursday in upcoming action.

Richter thinks her girls play best when they play with fire. “We were lacking the fire we had on Thursday against St. Regis when we played Superior,” she said adding. “But there’s still good things happening with this young group of athletes. I just hope we can find that fire again.”

Against St. Regis, Kaylie Mercer led Noxon with 13 aces, Sydnie Eichert added eight aces, four kills and seven assists, Sandy Bonney six kills, 15 digs and six blocks, Mads Thompson four kills, Nevaeh Christensen 12 assists and Laynie Eichert 10 digs.

In the match with Superior, Bonney recorded two kills, seven digs, two blocks and two aces to lead Noxon, Christensen had three assists, Sydnie Eichert an assist, and Laynie Eichert six digs.
