Law roundup: Witnesses shine light on motorist who knocked over pole

Witnesses contacted the Whitefish Police Department after watching a man in a Ford F-350 take off after hitting and knocking over a light pole. The flurry of phone calls from neighbors helped illuminate investigators to the man's whereabouts and they tracked the vehicle down, though they were unable to raise anybody at the home.
Officers warned a motorist for a stop sign violation near the intersection of East Second Street and Columbia Avenue.
Realizing they had forgotten their prescription medication in a rental car that they had already returned, a resident opted to report the drugs missing with the Police Department. The person later called back to say they had retrieved the medication from the dealership that rented them the vehicle.
A stranger checking the doors of apartments on Kalispell Avenue raised someone's suspicions. They offered to provide the police with video of the suspicious person.
