CLARK FORK — A special outing from Clark Fork’s lone senior, Nora-Jean Hoy, propelled the Wampus Cats to their fifth straight victory by sweep (25-11, 25-10, 25-15) over Noxon on Monday evening.  

Hoy totaled nine aces, six digs and six kills, with no errors and a .600 hitting percentage, against the Red Devils to help Clark Fork climb to 8-0 on the season. Clark Fork head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said Hoy has played every position on the court in her seasons as a Wampus Cat, making her a unique player. 

“She is the definition of coachable and has done a lot of personal work to earn her confidence and poise,” Kiebert-Carey said. “I'm always proud of NJ, but tonight was special.” 

A pair of sophomores, Vanessa Rogier and Kiylah Anderson, backed up Hoy’s impressive night. Anderson continued to successfully facilitate the offense, spreading the ball out to the tune of 19 assists and a team-high eight digs.  

Rogier added five aces to the team’s total, continuing Clark Fork’s strong start from the service line, seven digs and seven kills. 

“She's worked hard to get her physicality to match her competitive spirit, and we're seeing the fruits of that labor,” Kiebert-Carey said of Rogier. 

Clark Fork was without key freshman Grace Thompson, who has the second-most kills on the team with 46, against Noxon. Kiebert-Carey said the Wampus Cats' dominance is a testament to the team’s depth. 

The Wampus Cats were scheduled to play Wallace on Tuesday night, but the game was canceled. The school will look to reschedule, according to a social media post announcing the cancelation. Clark Fork's next game is set for Sept. 17 against Mullan at the Clark Fork Jr./Sr. High gym.
