Rachel L. Carrera

Rachel L. Carrera, 83, passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2026, in Moses Lake, Washington. 

Born on April 4, 1943, in Montana, she was the daughter of Pedro Ledesma and Rosa Mesa Vasquez, who lived there at the time. Soon afterward, the family moved to Washington, where Rachel grew up surrounded by family, faith, and hard work. She attended school in Outlook through eighth grade and graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1961. 

She will be remembered for her generous heart, hard work and love of God and family. For many years she worked as a recruiter for the National Migrant Program, making friends with the children and families she so faithfully served. 

Rachel remained faithful to the Lord, making sure that everyone knew that it was “better to give than to receive.” She built a life rooted in family, honesty, hard labor and service to God Almighty. 

Rachel leaves behind her husband Ruben, daughters, brothers and sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Everywhere that Rachel and Ruben went, they left behind people that immediately became a part of their family.

A celebration of life service will take place on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, at 5 p.m. at Restore City Church, Moses Lake, Washington.
