Rosemund ‘Rose’ Oliver DeRenzo

Rosemund “Rose” DeRenzo, 93, of Moses Lake, Washington, passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born on Oct. 14, 1932, in Stonewall, Kentucky, Rose lived a life defined by dedication, service and love. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many through her generosity, warmth, and unwavering love for family and friends.

Rose was a beloved wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma and will be remembered for her faith, strength, and passion for Israel and love of country and family. She especially enjoyed traveling, entertaining friends and family, and being involved in civic organizations.

Rose is survived by her daughter Deborah Horney (Samuel “Sandy”) and sons Roland DeRenzo Jr. (Sally), Victor David DeRenzo and Paul DeRenzo (Donna). She was preceded in death by her husband Roland Sr. in 1986, her mother Mary Oliver in 1985 and her stepfather William Oliver in 1975. Rose was proud of her 14 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren and her home was full of their photos.

Those who knew Rose will remember her love of Israel and her passionate political stance. Rose graduated from Farmington Hills High School in 1950, married Roland DeRenzo Sr. the next year and began their family with the birth of Deborah followed by three boys, Roland Jr., Victor David, and Paul. in 1976 she graduated from Madonna University with a degree in Gerontology. Rose worked for Eastern Airlines and the Broward County school system. In 1987, Rose went to Israel where she worked for Bridges for Peace, Sar-EL, lived on a kibbutz, and worked in a nursing home. When Rose returned in 1995, she worked in Olympia, Washington, as a legislative aide to three state representatives: Gary Chandler, Sarah Casada and Joyce Mulligan. Rose retired in 2002 and moved near family in Moses Lake until her death.

A family service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Berean Bible Church in Livonia, Michigan where Pastor Roland and Rose were in ministry together for many years. Rose will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan next to her beloved husband Roland. Rose lived a full life, and the life she lived was a life well lived.
