The Plains Trotters split District 7B conference road matches last week, falling 19-25, 25-19, 27-25, 26-24 to Mission in Mission Sept. 8 and rebounding to defeat Eureka 25-14, 25-15, 29-31, 25-18 in Eureka Saturday.

Coach Kim Lakko and her Trotters have two Sanders County matches on tap this week, at Hot Springs Tuesday and with Thompson Falls in Plains Friday.

Lakko credited Mission with scrappy play in that match last week. “Mission served tough and would not let anything hit the floor,” she said. “They fought hard and wanted that win.”

Hadyn Rice hit 13 kills and two aces to lead the Trotters at the net in Mission, Aubree Butcher added 11 kills, Emery Josephson had a team-high six blocks, Bri Kulawisnki a team-best five service aces, Jaycee Carr added eight digs and Mila Rvinius two blocks.

Setter Claire Lakko passed out 38 set assists, collected a team-high 17 digs, hit two aces and blocked two shots.

In the win over Eureka, Rice posted nine kills, two blocks and five aces, Lakko 30 assists, five aces and two blocks, and Butcher nine more kills.
