Bigfork, Polson grab volleyball wins Tuesday

BIGFORK — Raegan Waller had 11 kills and 17 digs and the Bigfork Valkyries were able to sweep Whitefish in Northwest A volleyball Tuesday.


Payton Despain had 35 assists on 38 team kills for the Vals (2-1) and also had two blocks. Emily Wisman added six kills for Bigfork; Lillie Suffia had three aces and two blocks. 


Sophia Lowell added three aces. 


No stats were available for Whitefish. 


Polson def. Col. Falls 3-1


POLSON — Three Columbia Falls Wildkats reached double figures in kills, yet the Polson Lady Pirates had a little bit more in a four-set victory in Northwest A volleyball Tuesday. 


Polson won the match 25-20, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21, despite 17 kills from the Kats’ Annabelle Middlesworth, 12 from Peyton Ross and 11 from Rylee Sweeney. Ross also had 18 digs; Jezanie Brooks had 30 assists and 12 digs. Ava Scholz had 24 digs. 


It was the first loss for Columbia Falls (3-1), which five seniors. 


“Polson took third at state last year and returns their entire team, so they were a great measuring stick for us,” Columbia Falls coach Jolandie Brooks said. “It definitely left me determined to get us better prepared moving forward.”
