Hayley Bitney Shade, 43

Hayley Bitney Shade, 43, of Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away on Aug. 17 at her home.

Hayley was born Dec. 11, 1982 in Kalispell, the daughter of Cory Ostrom Chadwick and Dan Bitney. She married Eric Shade on Aug. 2, 2014, in Bigfork. She gained two stepchildren, Rylie and Bryson Shade.

Hayley especially loved the outdoors, travel and spending summers in the Flathead Valley. She loved her dog, Maisy, and also loved being an aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. She was looking forward to becoming a grandmother or “Mee-maw” this coming fall.

Remaining to cherish Hayley’s memory are husband, Eric Shade; stepchildren, Rylie Shade (Casey Higgins), and Bryson Shade (Sarah); parents, Cory and Tom Chadwick, Dan and Connie Bitney; brother, Chris Bitney (Jenn); sisters, Tiffany King (Joe), and Mariah Delaney (Dalton); nieces and nephews, Sierra, Carson, Joey, Mason, Kathryn, Grayden, Gauge, Maddie, Ridge, Brynlee, and Sadie; and in-laws, Virginia and Clint Shade.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Special Olympics. Hayley devoted a decade of her career helping special needs and donating time to the Special Olympics. She was very passionate and loved helping in any way she could.

There will be two celebrations of life events held for Hayley:

11 a.m. on Sept. 12 at Palmer Park located at 3650 Maizeland Road Colorado Springs, CO 80909.

1 p.m. on Sept. 26 at Birch Grove Community Hall located at 594 Birch Grove Road Kalispell, MT 59901.
