Law roundup: Shopper accuses imaginary hooligans of damaging her car

An irate shopper told the Whitefish Police Department that a group of youths on bicycles decided to turn her parked vehicle into a playground and subsequently damaged it. Investigators contacted the store she was visiting and tried to find surveillance footage of the incident. Eventually, the store turned up the video taken during the woman's shopping trip, but it contradicted her story. They said the footage showed that her car was never "messed with" or damaged. Officers later shared the results of their investigation with the purported victim.  

Thieves made off with two e-bikes left in a carport on West Second Street.  

Speaking of e-bikes, someone called the Police Department with questions about their use on walking paths.  

A Baker Avenue landlord contacted the authorities after tenants began complaining about a badly parked Honda. The vehicle, which had been left in the same spot for a few days, made it difficult to turn onto Baker Avenue. Officers tracked down the Honda's owner and warned that if it was not moved, it would be towed.  

Having misplaced his backpack, which contained his medications, while meandering around town drunk, a man turned to the police for help. Officers checked the department's found property cache, but didn't see anything matching the description of the bag.  

Officers warned a motorist for speeding.
