Mcafee, Leckrone lead Loggers at Libby Invitational

The Libby Loggers golf team and Cabinet View Golf Course hosted the Libby Invitational last week.
Friday, Polson’s Carson Emerson took top honors in the boys event with a 2-under par 70. Whitefish’s Mason O’Neil was second with an even par 72.
The hosts Loggers saw Hank Mcafee lead them with a 93, good for 35th place. Lawson Purdy was next, scoring a 103 while taking 47th place. Teammates Evan Woody and Liam Sunell tied for 52nd while scoring 108 and Kason Courteau was 54th with a 112.
The boys field saw 59 players compete.
Whitefish was the top team as it scored 306, two strokes ahead of Polson. Libby was tied for 10th with Columbia Falls, each scoring 412.
In the girls event, Whitefish’s Karlee Brown was first with a 3-over par 75. Teammate Ryhlee Scott was second with an 80 and the Lady Bulldogs placed three in the top 8 as they took top honors as a team with 371 strokes, eight ahead of Polson.
For Libby, it scored 461 and placed seventh. Freshman Quinley Leckrone was the top Loggers scorer with 104 while placing 18th. Lucy DeShazer was 25th, scoring 110.
Dakota Allen scored 118 to place 36th and Bailey Haugen was 40th, scoring 129.
Libby is back in action Saturday at Hamilton.
