People hold out mugs to catch beer at the tapping of the keg as part of the Oktoberfest celebration in downtown Coeur d'Alene on Friday. Festivities continue from noon to 8 p.m. today with live music, German-inspired brews, and a tasting experience featuring more than 30 local craft beers, ciders, and Oktoberfest favorites. There will also be stein-holding competitions and a best-dressed contest showcasing traditional German attire.
