Solid waste sites closed Tuesday

SANDPOINT — Solid waste sites across the county will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 22, for department-wide training.

The daylong training will teach solid waste personnel to learn about the new point of sale system for the department. The new system is meant to automate the dump process for both customers and employees, providing printed waste receipts instead of handwritten ones and automatic tracking for the new card passes.

Officials said the new system will be able to process debit, credit and cash payments.

Normal operations will continue after the Sept. 22 closure.
