Fulcher's refusal to debate disrespects voters

Kaylee Peterson is running for the District 1 House seat against two opponents: Russ Fulcher and Sarah Zabel. In Gil Beyers’ September 3 Reader letter "Politics Versus Civics," he talks about allowing candidates to let voters know their platforms at a public forum; ie, a debate.

October 17 is the tentative date for such an online debate.  Kaylee invited Russ and Sarah to participate. Gil Beyers’ states: “The Idaho District 1 incumbent, Russ Fulcher, is so dismissive of his constituents he won’t even bother to debate his opponents in public forum.” When I contacted Kaylee’s campaign to see if Fulcher has answered the invitation, I was informed that Russ’s response was that he would be in touch if he was interested. And Sarah? Yes, she’ll debate because she wants the recognition.

Russ has refused to debate Kaylee Peterson every time she has run for the District 1 House Seat. He believes folks will vote for him because of the R behind his name. We have just over a month to see if Russ Fulcher wants to show his constituents what he believes in doing for Idaho voters.  To see what Kaylee believes in, look at her site: kayleeforcongress.com.
