A Flathead Valley man with a history of ignoring court orders picked up a felony case in August after allegedly violating an order of protection in Kalispell.

Torrey Grant Anderson, 39, pleaded not guilty to a single count of violation of an order of protection, third offense, in Flathead County District Court on Aug. 27. He remains in the county jail with bail set at $40,000.

Kalispell Police officers arrested Anderson on Aug. 23 after his mother reported seeing him outside her Ponderosa Street home about 4:50 a.m. despite the order of protection against him, according to court documents.

Arriving officers allegedly found Anderson on the back porch. He told them he had permission to be there, court documents said.

A sergeant with the Police Department had spoken with Anderson the day prior, reminding him he was not to go near his mother's home, according to court documents. Anderson allegedly acknowledged at the time that he was to stay away.

Anderson has two prior violations of an order of protection convictions in Kalispell Municipal Court, according to the charging documents. He was sentenced on the first on May 11 and the second on Aug. 19.

A pretrial conference in Anderson's case is scheduled for Dec. 15, with a status hearing set for Jan. 12. If convicted, he faces between 10 days and two years' imprisonment and a fine of between $500 and $2,000.
