Law roundup: Camera’s destruction is not picture perfect

A younger male wearing a mask and a dark hoodie knocked over or cut down a camera before running it over while speeding through a parking lot in a green Jeep. The hotshot performed a victory lap for good measure. Someone spotted the vandalism, though, and alerted the Kalispell Police Department. It was unknown who owned the camera and officers couldn’t reach employees who might have had that information because it was past midnight.  

A man allegedly attacked someone’s son with a knife. He was reportedly injured but declined medical attention.  

A woman thought a black SUV she accidentally cut off was chasing her and driving erratically, almost hitting her. She was told by 911 dispatchers to head to the Police Department. The rattled woman reportedly lost sight of the SUV and said she heard a crash, possibly into a house. Officers also received a report that a black vehicle drove through a fence. A witness got the license plate of the vehicle.  

Someone driving a two-door Honda reportedly took a swig of alcoholic iced tea.  

A woman and her family came home to find the access door to their attic open and called the police. Officers did not detect any activity and planned to use a drone to clear the location.  

A passerby thought a man walking along the road holding an open beer would get hit and wanted officers to check on his welfare. He was on private property and not in the roadway when officers arrived. 

A caller thought a gray Pontiac with its doors allegedly open and “things strung about” in a grocery store parking lot was suspicious, telling police it had been there at least a couple of hours.
