Spikers have tough go against Polson on the road

Columbia Falls Wildkats Volleyball had a tough week, losing their first conference match to the Polson Pirates in an away game last week.  

The Kats began the contest with a strong performance, securing the first set with a score of 25-20.  However, they faced a challenging time against the Pirates in the subsequent three sets, losing each one with scores of 22-25, 16-25, and 21-25.  

“I take responsibility for not having a few things as disciplined as I envisioned. Polson took third at state last year and didn’t lose any players.  It’s a good measuring stick for us and leaves me determined to have us better prepared,” said head coach Jolandie Brooks.

Jezanie Brooks contributed 30 assists and 12 digs in the game.  Annabelle Middlesworth led the team in kills with 17, followed by Peyton Ross with 12, and Rylee Sweeney with 11.  Ava Scholz would also have an impressive night compiling 24 digs for the Kats.

Columbia Falls (3-1) faced Bigfork in an away game on Tuesday and then have a home matchup against the Ronan Maidens on Thursday.
