Glacier High School’s Wolfpack Theatre Company opens its 2026-27 season with “Empowered: How One Girl Scout Nearly Destroyed the World’s Economy.”

The fast-paced comedy written by Don Zolidis explores what happens when the pressure to succeed and make money takes over.

“Empowered” follows Amaryllis, an ambitious Girl Scout determined to win her troop’s cookie-selling contest and its ultimate first-place prize: a unicorn. But when traditional sales techniques aren’t enough, she turns to the financial sector for inspiration.

What starts as a simple cookie sale quickly gets out of hand, leading to outrageous marketing schemes, franchising, questionable business practices and 30-year loans. As Amaryllis becomes increasingly determined to win, her cookie-selling operation becomes more extreme.

Through satire, “Empowered” explores the shift from nurturing the personal growth of youth to placing greater value on profit and success.

“I was searching for a play with a message when I read ‘Empowered,’” director Dwight Camillucci said. “It offers a powerful commentary on how we care for young people in a world that prioritizes profit.”

“I’m hoping it makes us think about what truly matters to us as individuals and as a society. Plus, I’m hoping they’ll remember some great jokes and all the laughs they had watching it,” he said.

The dedicated cast and crew have been working on the production before school started in mid-August. Cast members are Autumn Bashara, Kendall Dolan, Kellan Turley, Kyla Turley, Peyton McCoy, Sophya Allred, Hilda Weber, Bridget Reed, Parker Scherer, Hailey Sturzen, Scarlett Johnson, Josh Chandler, Dane Bourriague, Micah Pichardo, Trevor Hammer, Christina Eddins, Lucy Arnette, Arianna Gomez and Lilly Miller.
