Bonners Ferry 10, St. Maries 0

ST. MARIES — A six-goal outburst from Bonners Ferry in the first half was more than enough to bury St. Maries in an Intermountain League game on Thursday. 

The Badgers added four goals in the second half to round out their scoring fest. Juniors Lil Therrien and Avah Archibald notched hat tricks, while Taren Bateman and DeNoalious Hiatt added braces against the Lumberjacks. 

An aggressive offense helped Bonners Ferry keep a clean sheet against St. Maries and move to 6-4 overall and 6-3 in league play. 

Bonners Ferry 2, Grangeville 1

BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers earned a massive Intermountain League victory, handing Grangeville its second league loss, on Saturday. 

Despite trailing 1-0 at the half, Bonners Ferry's offense stuck with it. Luckily for the Badgers, Therrien stayed hot and found the back of the net twice in the second half. She got set-up passes from Hiatt and Archibald. 

Another victory helped Bonners Ferry improve to 7-4 overall and 7-3 in league play. 

Bonners Ferry 3, Coeur d'Alene Charter 1

BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry capitalized on a slow start by Coeur d'Alene Charter to earn their third straight Intermountain League victory on Tuesday night. 

The Badgers scored three times in the first half with Therrien, Bateman and Emilie Bourassa finding the back of the net to lift themselves over the Panthers. Bonners Ferry's head coach Emily Winebark said senior centerback Addison Lucas was key defensively for the Badgers. 

With the victory, Bonners Ferry moved to 8-4 overall and 8-3 in league play, firmly planting themselves as a competitor for the district title. 

As of publication, the Badgers sat fourth in the league behind CDAC, Grangeville and Timberlake. Bonners Ferry will play two more league games, the first at home against Orofino on Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. and the second on the road at Priest River on Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. 

BOYS 

Bonners Ferry 8, St. Maries 1

ST. MARIES — The Bonners Ferry Badgers' offense stayed red hot against the St. Maries Lumberjacks thanks to a hat trick from senior Riley Beggarly in an Intermountain League game on Thursday. 

In addition to Beggarly's three goals, the Badgers got a brace from sophomore Miles Oxford. Senior Peyton Hinthorn, freshman Oliver Hartman and, most impressively, senior goalkeeper Kordale Burt added a goal apiece to round out the Bonners Ferry offensive explosion. 

Hartman added two assists to his stat line, recording four points, while Oxford made an assist as well. In the goal, Burt played 60 of the 80 minutes and made two saves, while allowing one goal. 

"We worked on a lot of things, passing, communicating and getting open for our teammates, and it all looked beautiful at St. Maries," Bonners Ferry head coach Matt Solis said. 

The blowout victory moved the Badgers to a 5-2-1 record overall and 5-1 in the Intermountain League. 

Bonners Ferry 1, Grangeville 0

BONNERS FERRY — In a narrow Intermountain League showdown, a first-half goal from the Badgers made the difference on Saturday. 

"Grangeville is a pretty physical team; they have a lot of grit, so they gave us quite a fight on Saturday," Solis said. 

Bonners Ferry's victory moved them to 6-2-1 overall and 6-1 in league play. 

Coeur d'Alene Charter 3, Bonners Ferry 0

BONNERS FERRY — The Bonners Ferry Badgers couldn't keep up with the reigning Intermountain League Champion Coeur d'Alene Charter Panthers in a league contest on Tuesday night. 

The Badgers kept up with the Panthers' powerful offense for a majority of the game, keeping them within reach, 1-0. That was until late in the second half when Coeur d'Alene Charter found the back of the net two times in the final 20 minutes.  

"Right now, we are our biggest enemies. We're pretty inconsistent at certain things that we should be pretty good at," Solis said. "I'm still proud of my boys for all the work they put in and really proud of the younger guys that have been having to step in and play positions they've never played." 

With the loss, Bonners Ferry falls to 6-3-1 overall and 6-2 in league play, making them second in the Intermountain League. The Badgers' only two losses in league have come from the league-leading Panthers. 

"Hopefully, in two weeks at the district tournament we're going to see Charter again, and hopefully, we can take them on in that third chance," Solis said. "We move forward from yesterday's loss, and we'll pick it up again for sure." 

Bonners Ferry has one more game this week, playing at Priest River on Saturday at 2 p.m.
