Sandpoint 5, Post Falls 0 

SANDPOINT — A second straight clean sheet by Landon Brinkmeier and a quick hat trick from Pax Longanecker helped the Sandpoint Bulldogs bury the Post Falls Trojans in a nonleague match Tuesday night. 

Gus Penrose broke the ice for the Bulldogs in the seventh minute, sending in a corner kick from Longanecker. It didn't take long for Longanecker to take over the game after that, scoring his first goal in the eighth minute on a through ball from Dixon Reed and then two more goals in the next four minutes.  

Longanecker's hat trick came in just 17 minutes of action and was more than enough to beat the Trojans. 

Marlon Rohm polished off the scoring in the 20th minute off another corner kick from Longanecker. The Sandpoint captain finished the day with three goals and two assists, having a hand in every goal on Tuesday. 

"Great to get those set piece goals today and very happy with how we came out of the gates fast despite having some injury issues we're working through and flu that has gone through the team," Sandpoint head coach Dan Anderson said. 

The victory moves the Bulldogs to 8-1-1 overall and 5-0 in league play. Sandpoint currently leads the Inland Empire league and will look to stay atop it with a game at Lakeland on Sept. 24 at 4 p.m.

POST FALLS — Sandpoint continued on their path toward hosting the Inland Empire district tournament with a league victory over Post Falls on Tuesday. 

Willow Betz, Jordyn Tomco, Bayah Ratigan and Rae Olsen scored goals to lift Sandpoint over Post Falls.

"I am proud of the girls that keep getting the results we need going into the end of the season," Sandpoint head coach Alan Brinkmeier said. "We have Lakeland tomorrow for senior night. We are going to have to stay focused on the need for the result while supporting our dedicated seniors."

The Bulldogs' victory moved them to 6-4-1 and 5-1 in the Inland Empire League. Sandpoint will play host to Lakeland on Thursday at 4 p.m. 

Kellogg 1, Priest River 0 

KELLOGG — The Priest River Spartans couldn't overcome a first-half goal by the Kellogg Wildcats in an Intermountain League matchup on Tuesday night. 

The loss drops Priest River to 3-7-1 overall and in league play. The Spartans will play host to Bonners Ferry for their senior day matchup on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Priest River Junior High field.
