SPIRIT LAKE — A stellar day from junior Kerry Greenhalgh helped the Bonners Ferry Badgers eke out an Intermountain League victory over the Timberlake Tigers in five sets (21-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-14, 16-14) on Thursday.

Greenhalgh led the Badgers with 12 kills on 20 attempts with just four errors, while also contributing two blocks, four digs and a team-high four aces. She was backed up by sophomore Hana Hanson, who added 10 kills on 41 attempts with only four errors to a team-leading 16 digs and two aces. 

Sophomore Jaycee Bateman controlled the Badgers' offense and distributed the ball to the tune of a team-high 24 assists. Bateman totaled 15 digs on the night, two blocks and an ace against the Tigers. 

At the net, senior Eva Willis led Bonners Ferry with four blocks, adding five kills in the process. Junior Samantha Cummings totaled three blocks, five kills and 10 digs on Thursday night. 

The win helps the Badgers move to 4-4 on the season and 1-0 in league play. Bonners Ferry played at Kellogg in a non-league game on Wednesday night, but the game did not end by the Herald's print deadline.
