A Royal City man died when his plane crashed northwest of Royal City Wednesday afternoon.

ROYAL CITY — A Royal City man was killed when his plane crashed Wednesday afternoon about seven miles northwest of Royal City.
Dwaine Forester, 89, was killed when his single engine plane crashed in a field near the intersection of Road 11 Southwest and Adams Road South, said Kyle Foreman, public information officer for the Grant County Sheriff's Office, in a media release.
The crash was reported about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, Foreman said. Forester was the only passenger. The plane did not catch fire.
The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration, Foreman said.
