Lillian Chirico, 82

With heavy hearts, our family announces the passing of our wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt, Lillian Chirico, who left us Sept. 19, 2026, at the age of 82, following a brief illness. Lillian’s journey began in Montana, where she was born in 1944, to William B. and Floreta Fitzhugh B.

A graduate of Centerville High School in Stockett, Mont., Lillian's early love for cosmetology brought her to Helena. It was there that she met Paul Chirico, the father of her three boys. Their life together took them across Montana but ultimately to Anaconda, where they poured their hard work into running a family cattle ranch.

In her later years, Lillian chose Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to be close to family. Here, she became active at the Senior Center and surrounded herself with many wonderful friends. 

Lillian was defined by her incredible work ethic and devotion to family — a bond made even sweeter last year when she welcomed her first great-grandchild, Elliot.

Lillian rejoins her parents, brothers Don, Bill, and Thomas, and her sister, Marjorie. Her memory will be kept alive by her sister, Joyce, her brother, Dan, her beloved boys, Kris (Rose), Kahl, and Paul, her bonus children, Keith, Kelly, and Kimberly, and her grandchildren, Nichole, Jessica, Zachary, Ethan, Hannah, Gracie, Emilia, Ella, Gwen, Penelope, Gabriel and two great-grandchildren.

Lillian was a snazzy doting aunt, a loyal friend, and a spark of pure joy. We will forever miss her infectious laugh and spunky spirit. She left behind a legacy as bright as her smile.

A viewing begins at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, with a celebration of life to follow at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home at 373 Hayden Ave., Hayden, Idaho.
