Logger soccer teams sweep Browning, fall to Whitefish, CFalls

Playing two perennial state championship contenders in the last week was a tough assignment for the Libby boys and girls soccer teams, but the swept Browning on the road last Saturday.
Both Logger teams scored 10-0 wins over Browning.
Tuesday, Libby soccer dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Whitefish, with the boys falling 4-0 and the girls losing 6-0.
In the boys match, Whitefish scored four times in the first half. Whitefish held a 15-3 advantage in shots on goal. Libby goalkeeper Cole made five saves.
The loss dropped Libby to 3-4-1 overall and 2-3-0 in league play.
In the girls match, Whitefish scored less than a minute into the contest and led 3-0 at halftime before adding three more goals after the break.
Libby goalkeepers Sarah Kosters and Maura Mesenbrink combined for 17 saves as Whitefish finished with a 24-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Against Columbia Falls, the girls fell 10-0 and the boys, 2-0.
Friday, the Loggers play at Thompson Falls. The next home games are Tuesday against Bigfork.
