Sandpoint @ Lake City, 7 p.m. 

The Sandpoint Bulldogs aren't through with 6A opponents as they head to Coeur d'Alene to face the Lake City Timberwolves this Friday night. 

Sandpoint is fresh off its first loss of the season to Coeur d'Alene High, the No. 2 team in the state, and looking for a rebound performance. The Bulldogs will be hoping for their offense to get back in gear after only posting 14 points and under 100 passing yards against the Vikings. 

Senior Brock Yarbrough should be a focus after a slow game, by his high standards, last week. Expect to see Yarbrough involved in not only the passing game, but in the running game alongside the Bulldogs' backs Jensen Sheetz and Trenton Cross, who had a breakout performance last week. 

On the defensive side, Sandpoint will lean on linebackers Damian Porter and Clayton Ernst to control the middle of the field. Cornerback Devin McEnaney has proved to be a tackling machine as of late and will be key in slowing the Timberwolves' offense alongside Yarbrough and safety Jack Schriber. 

Lake City enters this game 3-2 and comes off a blowout, 32-0, loss to Highland (MT) last week. The Timberwolves beat 5A Lakeland for the first time since 2021 this season and should give the Bulldogs a solid run for their money at Van Troxel Field. Priest River @ Newport, 7 p.m. 

A second dominant win in a row was enough to push Priest River Lamanna High into the Idaho State Media Poll for the first time all season. 

The No. 5 Spartans will now take their talents just 11 minutes west for a showdown with 2-1 Newport Grizzlies on Friday. Both these teams have had very similar seasons, dropping their season-opener before thumping their next two opponents, setting up a revealing rivalry match. 

Priest River's surge has in large part come from their dominant defense, which has allowed 7 points and forced five interceptions in the last two games. The Spartans' defense is led by Layton Goins, the team's leading tackler, and Dayton Wheeler, who has five sacks so far this season. 

On offense, the Spartans have proved they can score points through the air and on the ground. Last week, it was on the ground as All-League running back Colton Kuprienko toted the ball 32 times for 140 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Nate Fegert, who scored three times against Logos. 

The Grizzlies are ranked as the 11th best team in their classification by MaxPreps and would be a statement win for the Spartans as they look to continue their momentum. This game will be streamed on NFHS with Newport as the home team. 

Clark Fork vs. Lakeside, 7 p.m. 

The 1A Clark Fork Wampus Cats return for their homecoming contest against the 1-3 2A Lakeside Knights on Friday night. 

Clark Fork fell to 1-3 after an 80-26 loss to one of the best 8-man football teams in Montana, Superior High. The Wampus Cats face a very equal opponent in the Knights, as both teams have struggled to generate overpowering offense this year.  

Clark Fork will have homecoming festivities all day on Friday, including the homecoming parade set for 5:30 p.m. The game has a white-out theme, so fans should wear white to support Clark Fork. 

Bonners Ferry vs. Logos, 7 p.m. 

Homecoming festivities will also be plentiful in Bonners Ferry as it welcomes 3A Logos on Friday night. 

The last two weeks have been tough for the Badgers, who have lost their last two contests against 5A Sandpoint and Fruitland, the No. 2 team in 4A, by more than 30 points. Bonners Ferry battled in the first half with Fruitland, but succumbed to its injuries, which they'll look to overcome against Logos. 

If they want to get back on the right track, the Badgers will need a standout game from senior quarterback Alex Stolley, who leads the team in rushing and passing yards. Sophomore running back Max Thompson has emerged as a weapon that Bonners Ferry can lean on to take some of the burden off Stolley as well. 

Logos, one of the best teams in the 3A ranks, is fresh off a blowout loss to Priest River, whom the Badgers throttled in Week 2. While this has the makings of a bounce-back for Bonners Ferry, it'll need a big game from its front-7 on defense if they want to slow Logos' powerful offense.
