Troy volleyball 2-2 after tough defeat to Eureka

Troy volleyball saw its early-season record evened at 2-2 after falling in straight sets to Eureka on Thursday, Sept. 17.

The Trojans battled closely in the opening set before Eureka pulled out a 25-22 victory. The Lions then took control of the match, winning the second set 25-16 and closing out the sweep with a 25-15 win in the third.

Addyson Fisher led Troy’s attack with eight kills while also contributing 12 digs on defense.

Olivia Hall anchored the Trojans defensively with a team-high 21 digs and added an ace. Avery Storkson finished with 10 digs, while Kirsti Jellesed added nine digs, seven assists, one kill and one ace.

Kaydence Gamache contributed eight digs along with a kill and an ace. Ainsley Huitron and Claira Folkerts each added a kill, with Folkerts also recording two digs.

Despite the loss, Troy showed its best resistance in the opening set, staying within striking distance throughout before Eureka closed out the frame.

The Lady Trojans return home Thursday, Oct. 1, to take on Thompson Falls.
