SPIRIT LAKE — To get where the Hawks want to be, they've got to toughen up in the trenches.
Two straight rivalry wins later, the Hawks are on the right path.
Senior Griffin Tamagni accounted for three of the Hawks' six rushing touchdowns in a nonleague win over the Tigers at Van Tuinstra Memorial Field.
"It's a must in what we want to do," said Lakeland coach Mike Schroeder of the rushing attack, which also had two touchdown runs from sophomore quarterback Taytum Bligh and another from sophomore Emmit Rivandeneira. "If we don't get physical up front, we're not going to get there. It was a good game to get some other guys in and get them some reps."
Lakeland (2-4), which defeated Post Falls 35-14 on Sept. 18, has a bye this week, then opens 5A Inland Empire League play at Lewiston on Oct. 9.
