Coeur d'Alene to host fair housing training

Federal law prohibits denial of housing based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, or family status.
The law, called the Fair Housing Act, was passed 58 years ago.
In this spirit, the city of Coeur d’Alene will soon provide a free “Fair Housing and Hot Topics” training. Partnering with the Intermountain Fair Housing Council, the event is slated for noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Community Room.
“The city of Coeur d’Alene supports the on-going efforts of the many organizations, housing, and service providers in our community who provide educational opportunities and outreach on Fair Housing,” the city said Thursday.
