HELENA — The Flathead Bravettes picked up two more flag football wins Saturday, and one was in doubt until the final seconds.

Gracie Mae Kilmer threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns in Flathead’s 20-7 win over Helena High, then hit Aubrie Lindsay with a 7-yard TD pass on fourth-and-goal as the Bravettes pulled out a 27-26 win over Helena Capital.

“Fourth and goal from the 12,” Flathead coach Jess Hensley said. “We hard count and draw them offsides, fourth-and-7 with 18 seconds left, Gracie Mae connects with Aubrie Lindsay for the game-winner on a hitch.”

Kilmer had a huge day — she was 27 of 42 for 237 yards and four touchdowns against Capital and added 160 rushing yards on 21 attempts — and not just on offense.

She had five tackles in the win over Helena, in which she completed 24 of 37 passes and also ran for 82 yards and a TD. Against the Bruins she had six flags and an interception.

Lexi Herion also had a big day: She caught two touchdown passes against Helena and then caught three TDs against Capital. She had five receptions for 89 yards in the opener and five receptions for 57 yards against the Bruins.

Lindsay had four catches for 56 yards against Capital, which allowed 414 yards of offense to Flathead. Violet Close had eight catches for 80 yards against Helena.

Teagan Hayek had three flags against Helena and four flags against Capital.

Flathead improved to 7-1 overall and 6-1 against Western AA teams.
