Glacier girls soccer sweeps Helena schools

The Glacier girls soccer team avenged a season opening loss to Helena Saturday to complete a weekend sweep in high school soccer at Glacier High School.


The Wolfpack claimed a 2-1 victory over the Bengals after dealing Helena Capital a 2-0 loss on Friday evening. 


Lucy Holloway netted both goals in Friday’s victory during the first half as Aerin Todd helped keep a clean sheet in the back. 


Addison Brisendine started the scoring Saturday with a goal three minutes in for Glacier.  


Hailey Hayes tied the game up in the second half with her 14th goal of the season. 


Gracie Winkler had the last laugh though as her 69th minute winner powered Glacier. Winkler has 10 goals on the year.

Glacier boys down Capital, tie with Helena


Four different Glacier players found the back of the net Friday evening as the Wolfpack downed Helena Capital 4-1. 


Isaac Weaks started the scoring in the first minute to start the Wolfpack on the right foot. 


Jonny Drinnin tied the game later in the half with a free kick goal for Helena, but Glacier’s offense started rolling after halftime. 


Brecken Evenson, Oliver Poitra and Liam Swank all scored after the break and helped Glacier to the victory. 


Goalkeeper Jack Young picked up an injury during the game and freshman Landon Travis stepped into net for the Wolfpack. 


Evenson found the lone goal on Saturday for the Wolfpack in a 1-1 tie with Helena. 


Helena equalized in the second half as the Wolfpack ended the game down a man due to a red card. 


Travis made a pair of saves for Glacier in the draw.
