Get ready to celebrate the sights, sounds and flavors of fall at the 12th Annual Kootenai Harvest Festival, Saturday, Oct. 3, at Riverfront Park in Libby.

The festival will be held from noon  to 6 p.m.

This much-loved community celebration is the perfect way to welcome the fall season, with something for everyone to enjoy. More than 50 artisan vendors from across Northwest Montana will fill the park with locally made crafts, handmade goods, farm-fresh produce and plenty of unique finds.

Take a stroll through the vendor booths, discover something special to take home, and grab a drink while enjoying an afternoon along the Kootenai River.

Live music from Bob Vignali & Friends will keep the festival lively along with other local entertainment including the Karina Hancock Dancers and Chilaili Wachichi’s beautiful flute.

Families can head over to the Kids Zone for fun with a giant parachute, tug of war, mini golf, face painting, story time and other activities.

Food is also a big part of the celebration, with a locally grown Harvest Meal highlighting the flavors of the season with delicious beet salad, roasted root vegetables and braised beef plus vegetarian options.

Festival-goers can also take part in the Anything But Apple Pie Contest, where local creativity and fall flavors come together.

One of the festival favorites, the community apple press, will once again be hosted by the Yaak Valley Forest Council. Bring your apples and containers and turn your harvest into fresh cider. The press will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be a bear safe demonstration near the Apple Press this year.

With local vendors, great food, live music, family activities, raffle of a handcrafted wooden picnic table and plenty of fall fun, the Kootenai Harvest Festival is a great opportunity to shop local, support Northwest Montana makers and farmers, grab lunch and a drink, and enjoy the beauty of the season.

“This is a wonderful event for everyone in our community to welcome the fall season and gather to celebrate all of the locally made and sourced goods we have in our County. It is truly amazing what a few hard working volunteers can make happen, this event showcases the good we can bring to our communities if we work together,” said Ashley South, a member of the Harvest Festival Planning Committee.

The festival is made possible through the hard work of community volunteers and the generous support of local businesses, organizations and individuals.
