Bonnie Faye (Baker) Merritt, 85

Bonnie passed away Sunday evening September 20th, 2026, at her home of natural causes. She was born on December 12, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri to John W. & Freda S. (Shields) Baker. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Jim Baker, Johnny Baker, husband Robert Merritt, son Raymond Higgins & grandson Jake Higgins. She had five children with Robert L. Higgins: Randy, Julie, Raymond, Sherry, & Donald. They later divorced & she remarried in 1981 to Robert Merritt in Redding, CA. They eventually moved to Superior, MT. Robert passed away in 2001. 

She is survived by her siblings: Paul (Carol) Baker of Grain Valley, MO, Patricia Weaver of Eudora, KS, Jerry (Wanda) Baker of Sedalia, MO & Debbie (Charlie) Villers of Holt, MO. Her children: Randy (Judy) Higgins, Julie Schrock, Sherry (George) Spangler & Donald Higgins all of Superior, MT. Grandchildren & great grandchildren: Duane (Stacy) Guade, (Cameo & Cheyanne & her son Nolan), Bessie Spangler, Kate Brown (Cassidy & Grace), Lena Higgins, Jay (Shelby) Higgins (Bowdy, Winter & Lyndi), Allyssa Fitzgerald (Ava & Kynslee), Carli Mahai, (Prudence & Jubal), Wally (Alisha) Schrock, (Talia, Sawyer & Aspen), Cody (Rayann) Schrock (Ivory), Derek Higgins, Heather Reese (John, Mayzie, Austin, Millie, & Minnie), Ginger Reese (Taitym, Cayden & Raidyn). And numerous nieces & nephews. 

Bonnie was a talented artist who loved to paint landscapes with wildlife. She enjoyed watching Unsolved Mysteries & always had a cup of coffee if you stopped in for a visit. No funeral services are planned at this time; family will gather at later date to celebrate Bonnie's life and share memories of her. 

Sunset Hills Funeral Home will be doing the cremation. In lieu of flowers; please make donations in Bonnie's name to the Community Food Bank of Mineral County PO Box 46 Superior, MT 59872.
